Get a Free Quote The service ## Access that lets a renderer finish the wall properly Rendering is a wet trade worked across a whole elevation in continuous passes, so the access has to let a renderer move along the wall without breaks, and stand close enough to work the surface flat. Scaffold set too far out, boarded on one lift only, or with awkward transoms in the way, shows up in the finish. We plan lifts so the renderer works at a comfortable height for each band, and we keep the deck close to the wall so beads, mesh, scratch coats and topcoats can all be worked from a natural position. Every lift is boarded, guarded and toe-boarded. Rendering also brings mixers, silos, buckets, water and hoses onto site. At survey we agree where the mixing station goes, how materials get to height, and how paths, drives and planting are protected, because a rendering job makes far more mess than a re-roof. Ties are placed and sequenced with your renderer so holes can be filled and finished as the scaffold comes down, rather than leaving obvious patches across a fresh elevation. In detail ## How we approach rendering scaffolding in detail Rendering access is about proximity, continuity and protection. Get those three right and the renderer's job gets easier and the finish gets better. ### Materials used Standard tube and fitting scaffold with fully boarded lifts, laid tight with toe boards and double guardrails. Tube and fitting lets us set the working gap precisely and follow bays, gables and returns instead of accepting fixed frame widths. Debris netting or sheeting is used where splashes and dust need containing, particularly on street elevations and shared boundaries. Where sheeting goes on, the tie pattern and bracing account for the additional wind load. ### Methods and sequencing Lifts are set so each render band is workable at chest height, with the top lift high enough to finish at eaves, verge and bellcast details. We keep transoms and bracing clear of the working face wherever the structure allows. Protection goes down before erection: sheeting to paving and drives, boards over planting, and covers on windows and doors where practical. On strike, boards are lifted rather than dragged and ties patched as we go, so nobody scuffs a finished elevation. ### Service variations Full-elevation independents suit whole-house re-renders. Gable-only or single-elevation scaffolds suit repairs and partial works, and can be moved round a property in phases if that keeps costs down. Where render is part of an external wall insulation build-up, the working gap has to allow for insulation thickness as well, so we set out from the finished render face just as we would for cladding. ### Situations it applies to Rendered semis and detached houses across Kent, older solid-wall cottages being re-rendered, blocks of flats and commercial buildings having facades refreshed, and new builds where render is the finishing trade.
